I have been getting counseling here, I don't want to say what for, but it has been amazing. I had never imagined how much good it would do me to air my problems out in the open and get some professional advice from someone who isn't actually living my life. Sometimes you just get too close to things and you lose clarity. I really recommend coming in here. They deal with all kinds of issues, and they are so patient and helpful.

I have serious anger management problems. I know that might sound kind of pathetic, but it's tough when you work 60 hours a week and have as much stress as I do. But I can't take that out on my employees, as much as I'd sometimes like to. I was taking it out on my family at home for a while, but I realized I was getting to the point where I needed to take action to change or it was going to be the end of my relationship. So I started attending counseling sessions here at Peninsula, and my counselor has helped me so much. It's really been amazing seeing my problems in perspective, and just having someone I can open up to about my stresses and responsibilities--someone who isn't so closely connected to my situation that any of it impacts her. I am starting to understand myself better and realize that I've had no outlet for my stress, which is why it's just built up. I am working on finding ways to reduce my stress and relax with my counselor's help. If you suffer from anger problems like I do, don't wait--set up an appointment and get on with your life!

I have suffered from panic disorder for more than a year now. As anyone with anxiety problems knows, one of the prime symptoms is feeling like you're absolutely helpless. That's why I didn't do anything about it for so long. I started going to counseling sessions here about two months back, and it has been more helpful than I'd have believed. I've come to realize that a lot of my panic problems stem from issues with my family (it seems to run in our genes--and it's been passed down through bad habits), along with a lack of perspective on various other things in my life. Realizing this has allowed me to take steps toward living a more palatable life.
If you have a panic problem, I recommend coming in. They do a lot of other types of counseling too for other disorders and also for people who are sick.
