The Long Island spring is in the air! As Mach comes into the picture this week, there are some great events that are happing. Everything from some great music events to other live shows are going on around the different communities that make up our Long Island home as a way to help us look ahead to the wonderful season of Spring. One other great event, that starts on March 1st and goes to the 3rd, is the Long Island Pet Expo.
This is a wonderful time spent watching a classic K9 dog show, agility contests, Frisbee and dog dancing demonstrations. Plus, there is a parade of breeds, a rain forest reptile show, vendors and a brand new event; a cat agility course. The new cat agility is something that may have to be an acquired taste, but it just may work out.
The Pet Expo will be held at Suffolk County Community College, Brentwood-Grant Campus, and go from 4-9 PM on Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday, and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday. The cost is $12 adult, $5 ages 11 and under, free for those 3 and under. Because of the different shows and exhibits, family pets will not be allowed.
In the past years, I have seen a couple of these expos and they are a lot of fun, especially if you like dogs; and now cats!
