Holiday Sales Promote Home for the Holidays in Huntington

The holiday season is almost upon us with Black Friday in just a few days. The day after Thanksgiving is now known throughout the world as the biggest shopping day of the year with incredible deals on products that we do not need, but want so desperately to have. This holiday shopping season, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce would like to remind you that Huntington’s hamlets offer special events, numerous sales, and an abundance of incentives and exciting programs to help celebrate the holidays at home.

All of this gets a big kick-off with Small Business Saturday, which is an American shopping celebration created by American Express to support local retailers. This is the Saturday following Thanksgiving and is to encourage shoppers to visit small, local businesses throughout the country and support merchants by “Buying Local.” This can not come at a better time as people around Long Island are still in the midst of recovering, rebuilding, and restoring their lives.

More than 100 million people around the country come out on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving to get the early shopping deals. Many of them stay locally in order to support the many small businesses in their area. As a way of making this event festive rather than chaotic, many towns hold festivals and special events. Huntington transforms itself into a large event center during this time of year.

Huntington and surrounding Villages will come alive with holiday music, festive decorations and free parking for visitors and shoppers during the holiday season.  In talking about this Robert Bontempi, Huntington Chamber Chairman said,  “Huntington has so much to offer, providing a personal touch to the shopping experience.  With great sales, wonderful boutiques, fine restaurants and so much more, you cannot go wrong.  Our local merchants offer a great selection of gifts for any age and any budget."
