In all the chaos resulting from Hurricane Sandy it has probably escaped many of us that Thanksgiving is just around the corner – next week! While the tradition for many is having a home-cooked meal and enjoying it around the dining table with friends and family, it is understandable if it may be a challenge to do that this year. To make up for it, why not consider a Thanksgiving dinner at these restaurant locations:
- Blackwells At Great Rock Golf Club in Wading River – (631) 929-1800. It will have a Thanksgiving grand buffet from noon to 5pm on Thursday, Nov. 22. Dinner is $42.95 per person and $19.95 for children under 10. The grand buffet will include Caesar Salad, Mixed Mesclun Greens, Candied Walnuts and Dried Cranberries, Antipasto Display, Tomato & Fresh Mozzarella with Basil Pesto and Butternut Squash & Apple Soup for appetizers; a carving station with Oven Roasted Long Island Turkey with Stuffing and Prime Rib with Horseradish Cream for the entrée; chaffing dishes of Almond Crusted Flounder, Penne Vodka, Roasted Pork Loin, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Mixed Sauteed Vegetables, Butternut Squash, Candied Yams and Cranberry Sauce; and Pumpkin Pie, Cheesecake, an ice cream bar with a variety of toppings and Apple Pie for dessert. Coffee, tea and soft drinks is also included with the buffet dinner.
- Mitch & Toni’s American Bistro in Albertson – (516) 741-7940. It will offer Thanksgiving supper from 1pm to 8pm on Thursday, Nov. 22. Its three-course prix fixed menu at $54 per person and $22 for children 12 and under will be prepared by Chef Mitchell SuDock. There will the choice of Traditional Shrimp Cocktail, Roasted Butternut Squash Soup, Mesclun Salad or Pumpkin Ravioli for an appetizer; Roasted Turkey, Roasted Vension, Pan Seared Diver Sea Scallops or Grilled Organic Salmon for the main entrée; and House-made Sorbet, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Apple & Cranberry Crisp with Cinnamon Ice Cream or Chocolate Fudge Cake for dessert.
With all the food to be served and the people to share it with, we all have a lot to be thankful for! It doesn’t matter where Thanksgiving dinner is hosted, just that you are with the important people in your life.
