This was a measure of last resort for me, cause I won't lie; it was expensive. But I wasn't getting anywhere on my own. I needed help. The counselor who worked with me was so nice. She was really encouraging, and she explained why I wasn't losing weight with what I was doing. She got my diet in order and helped me to stick with the exercise plan we came up with even after a month had gone by.

In the past I would've given up, and if I was on my own, I would've given up, even though the plan worked. It just took a while. Weight loss is slow when you do it right, but it's been speeding up as I've come closer to my goal weight.

I have had a hard time keeping weight off for the past fifteen years, and I finally got fed up with feeling fat and commissioned a personal counselor at this gym to help me with my problem. She was able to provide me with nutritional suggestions which have actually led to improvement. It finally has come to me that the reason for my failure over the years was that I was trying diets which were TOO extreme, instead of diets which I could actually keep up with. It's no good losing weight if you just gain it back, and a lot of what I was doing to myself was unhealthy for my metabolism, and that actually made it harder to lose weight over the long run. It's great finally understanding all this. My current progress is slow, but it's progress, and that's everything to me.
