Venere Ristorante is hands down one of the best restaurants on Long Island. It is my favorite Italian restaurant by far. It is one of the few I can actually afford, and their food is really good. The prices are what you’d expect from a typical pizza/pasta joint, but the atmosphere is more of a “fine dining” environment, very nice for a sit down meal, and typically there isn’t much of a wait. This restaurant is regularly overlooked for some reason. I hope not for much longer, because it deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

Let me give you an idea for what you can expect in terms of pizza prices: a large cheese pizza is $11.50, and that’s not even the lunchtime price! A stuffed pizza is $22.00. My favorite, the Special Sicilian, runs only $21.50. Additional ingredients are a couple of bucks each. Most of the pasta dishes are around $10. Chicken, veal and seafood are a bit more expensive, but if you come during lunch time you can expect to save a couple of dollars on any of the menu items. They also have a great wine and dessert menu, so check it out!
