I have used independent tutors and big centers, including Tutor Time. My son works with an independent tutor named Clarice Smith right now. And her services are so fantastic and personal. I used to think that Tutor Time was great, but their tutors are underpaid, and they aren't as dedicated as a result. I believe in paying the tutor, not some administrator, and I want a tutor who can give my child her full attention, so I am going to steer clear of big centers from now on. That said, if you are in a rush and don't want to take the time to find someone independent, Tutor Time is okay. But you will get -far- better service if you then find a local tutor like Clarice.

This tutoring service is okay, but not that great now that I've discovered really awesome tutoring from a local provider. Independent tutors can offer you much more comprehensive and personal service than these larger companies, which often underpay their tutors by the way. I know it's a temptation to go with a big company out of laziness, but your child deserves the best, right?
If you're in a hurry and you need a tutor fast, by all means, hire Tutor Time. Got more time though, I recommend interviewing with independent tutors as part of your screening process.
