I am so new to this area, but I think I've already discovered one of the best restaurants here! Chinese food is usually an area of low expectations for me--way too many bad, MSG-loaded restaurants have come and gone through my life. This one's here to stay though. I don't think they use that much MSG in their food, and the ingredients seem really healthy. Their food is tasty, and I eat here a lot. When I'm not eating here, I'm thinking about eating here and looking forward to it.

Tung Hoi is one of the three Chinese food places I actually patron on Long Island. There aren't too many Chinese food places that make me happy, but this one is the best in the area for sure. The other two that I like are inconveniently far away, which makes this the most frequented of the lot for me. They make excellent beef with broccoli, one of my favorites, and also do great with their lemon chicken. Try the sweet and sour too. And the fried wontons. See how many favorites I have?

The fact that I still order food from Tung Hoi after three years of living here should tell you something about their quality. I get tired of most restaurants pretty quickly, probably because I have IBD and my innards just can't handle most foods which are cooked out, so we do most of our eating in. Tung Hoi's food seems to go down fine, and it's delicious to boot. So we order from here every couple of weeks, and go with takeout. It's fast, it's affordable, and it's just plain good.

Tung Hoi Chinese Kitchen is a wonderful place to wine and dine. They have the best shrimp fry and sushi schedule in NYC. I find myself visiting them at least twice a week and the food is great as usual.

Varied menu with lots of choices. Cheap and fast and worth a visit at least once.
