It can be tough to hunt down what you're looking for in Home Depot, but I've always found that the customer service people are pretty helpful in that regard (assuming you can hunt one down). I have had some trouble exploring the garden section - that seems to be where it's most challenging to find someone to point you in the right direction or help you check out. The main part of the store on the other hand seems totally fine in that regard.

Home Depot is hard to find anything in, despite the clear signage. I can always find the right aisle, but almost without exception I then seem to need assistance. Well, I take it back. Lots of stuff is exactly where you don't expect it to be. And when it comes to looking for what you want in the garden/outdoor areas, good luck. They find the most counterintuitive ways to organize. Like, birdseed. Should be in the outdoor section, right? Wrong. At this Home Depot, it's indoors.
Complaints about order aside, they do have a huge selection. I grant them that. If I have a home improvement project to do, Home Depot carries most of what I need. When it comes to highly specialized parts, I can't always make it a one stop shopping trip, but being able to find most of what i need is pretty darn good.
