The bad news ... it is expensive, even for Long Island, and it can be super crowded. The good news ... it is worth it! And if you call ahead, you can reserve a table and get around the crowds. Once you're there, you will get great service and amazing food.

Not the cheapest sushi you'll find, but also pretty good, and good is more important than cheap when you're eating raw fish. Ever had sushi on dry rice? Ugh. They don't do it wrong here. So I'm fine paying extra since I've been to a few other restaurants in town which didn't live up to my expectations.

The first time we came here, we didn't have reservations, and it was all full when we arrived. There are only about a dozen tables. There was a half hour wait, so we shrugged and went somewhere else.
The next time we called ahead and when we arrived, they had our table ready. No delay, no wait time, it was great. I had the bento box special and my husband ordered the eel roll and the California roll with some side or other - I can't remember what it was. I was really happy with my meal, though he had some complaints about the eel roll. The only drawback otherwise was the price. I've eaten equally good sushi at a much lower price before. I do think I'll come back here again, but perhaps at lunch time. If they have lunch specials, they could be very reasonable.

Sushi 1 Restaurant is a nice restaurant that is oriental and includes many intriguing dishes and top quality ingredients. There is a website available, named after the same name of the restaurant, where you can take a look at the decor and the menu of the place. It is situated in Westhampton Beach and it is really great for an asian restaurant. My favourite, apart from the seafood, is the duck. It is cooked to perfection and it is served beautifully in a colourful plate, along with steamed veggies and fried rice with corn and peas. The whole recipe is amazing, along with the seasonings and herbs that are essential in asian cuisine. The prices are fantastic too, really low for the quality that they offer.

If you like sushi, then you need to go to Sushi 1 Restaurant. While I'm not a big fan of sushi myself, my kids love it. So we go here and they get their sushi, and I get something that's actually cooked.
Decent and fair prices, excellent service and good food all in one place. Can't beat that!
