I said goodbye to my beautiful GSD last year. She was with us for twelve years, and she was such a beautiful, beautiful friend ... a lot of people didn't understand when she passed that we lost a member of our family. I knew her longer than I knew my wife. Trying to explain to someone who doesn't understand how dear an animal friend can be is really heartbreaking.
I didn't have to explain when I went to Sundown Animal Crematory Service. They understood that I wanted my beautiful dog to be treated with dignity after her death, and they treated us with dignity too. They were so kind and understanding through the whole event. Our dog's ashes are now housed in a special urn, which we have on our fireplace mantel. There's nothing that can make something like this better, but there are many things that can make it worse, and one of those things is dealing with people who don't understand. I'm glad I didn't have to face that at the cremation place.

Our poor dog Sammy died last year. We'd had her for so many years--we really did lose a member of our family. We were very concerned with how we were going to deal with the loss and treat her remains with respect. At first we were going to bury her, but we decided to go to Sundown Animal Crematory Service. The people who worked there were very kind and understanding--they really got that Sammy was a member of our family and treated the matter with the respect it deserved. I hate when people act like a dead pet isn't as important as a dead human.
We got Sammy a beautiful little urn, and scattered her ashes around the lake where she loved to go on walks and along the beach by Southampton where she loved to frolic in the waves. If you are struggling with a beloved pet's death, I recommend this cremation service. They will be kind to the memory of your pet.
