The Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals is an organization working with many types of animals. The group enforces laws prevented to help animals and keep them in safe conditions. They also house animals in a shelter that have been turned over by the owners or found as strays in the streets. The SPCA mainly works with cats and dogs, but they also handle large animals and exotics that are turned in or confiscated because they have been found in deplorable conditions or the owners have not taken care of them and they need a new home.
