There is just way too much sugar in their coffee. And too much caffeine too. I think the extra caffeine is why it tastes so bitter to me. Caffeine, of course, is addictive, which is probably why they dump so much in their drinks, in order to keep people coming back. Weirdly enough I am leaving this review for the food and not for the coffee, and I am leaving it in light of not having had to pay for it. This is why it is not higher/lower. It seems unfair either way.

So basically, one of the guys who lives down the hall in my college dorm works at Starbucks. At the end of the week, they give him all the "stale" food they didn't sell that week, he brings it home, and puts it out in the common area for whoever needs/wants it.

I have eaten a lot of it by now, and let me tell you, if their "stale" food is this good, I imagine their not-stale food is amazing. That said, I'm told it is also very pricey, so I probably wouldn't see myself going in there to actually ever buy it sometime.

Starbucks, whatever anyone says, is not really a coffee house. Have you ever been to a real coffee house? Cozy chairs, couches and furniture, a fun, unique atmosphere, books to read, and no pressure or feeling of hurry at all? A good coffee house can be a home away from home, and that's not how I'd describe Starbucks with its uncomfortable, mass produced chairs and tables, absent decor, and general corporate malaise. I will never understand the allure this chain holds for people. Their drinks are so sugary, and I swear their coffee is on the bitter side. I'd much rather have a cup of Farmer Brother's coffee. Since so many days I rued about the lack of a good coffee house in my area and then Star Bucks opened up their franchise in our borough. I am delighted and have visited them so many times in the past few days, mum parents are really cross! LOL…they are the best. It is probably because I’ve been missing a hang out spot close by, but I love them and cannot imagine a day without sipping on some of their wonderful coffee. Share Your Review
