Staying at the Smith Point Motel was okay. It wasn't the most expensive, but it wasn't the cheapest either. The rooms were clean, and the maids cleaned daily. We might consider staying there again.

Well, the motel seems okay. The pricing could be lower but, considering the motel is located next to a huge beach, I guess the price tag is justified.
There are cots with duvets, but most of the times they hurt your back. There is a mini bar, stocked with just bottled water and no wine; a cable TV that is half-dilapidated, and a window with a shoddy view.
For a last minute reservation, the motel is alright. But, for the price, you have other hotels in the area, so I guess paying so much for substandard service is not good. I am not exactly ranting, but the services are no good raving either. I guess, I could say – the hotel is neat and well managed, but that’s about it!

I thought I'd try this motel since it is located in a great spot next to a beach which I heard was world class (and is). Alas it is also in a dubious neighborhood and the motel itself is overpriced for what you get. Don't get me wrong, there's a working fridge and cable, which is nice, but what there isn't is good service. There are also no large towels, and I thought the beds were hard and uncomfortable. I was sharing my room with someone and we both were trying to pay for it and I wanted them to split our bill since my friend had made some calls. They wouldn't do it, so we had to deal with all that ourselves.
It's not really the worst place I've ever stayed, but it just didn't have much to recommend it in light of the price. If this had been a cheaper place to stay I might have been okay with it. For the same amount of money though I know there are some better options in the area.
