I love the food here, and the view outside is beautiful. I love to visit the harbor, and it's a great place to eat on the way home. My kids really like it, and as a parent, I appreciate having an easy solution when it comes to making them happy. I have to take a star off for the price though. I have such mixed places about this restaurant I'm not sure where to begin. I guess I'll start with location. It's in a great spot next to the harbor. That's a definite plus. The food? Pretty good, though a bit greasy sometimes. Expensive. So the price ... not so great.

The service is the main issue I have trouble with. This place can get crowded, and when they do, there is always a feeling that you need to rush. The waitresses try to hurry you through. And they give inaccurate wait times ... they under-estimate. Possibly on purpose, maybe not. But it's annoying to wait and then be hurried through.

I think that they're underpaid, which is part of the problem. So it's the owner I feel like I should be blaming and not them ... which is a major problem, since it's hard to pay a lot of money for a dinner only to realize you then need to pay even more to make up for the fact that the owner is running things like this. If you pay nice tips, you get much better service, and I mean MUCH.

So I am undecided about the Ritz. It has its good points (food, setting), but the price is decidedly high, and I like to relax during my meals. Can't do that here. O Levin from East Northport, NY on Sep 19, 2012
Ritz Cafe is a great eating place and cafe within the area of Northport. It features a wide variety of cold and hot beverages, all made using the finest ingredients. There are some food options of gourmet and real taste, such as baked clams or calamari with french onion au gratin. Honey mustard baby greens are another favourite side dish of mine, whenever I visit the Ritz Cafe. The prices are really reasonable and the service is perfect and warm with the customers at all times, even when they have a lot of pressure to deal with.
