I grew up in Port and lived here for almost 20 years. I brought my bike in to have the rear wheel replaced. When I picked it up, I found that the wheel had been replaced, but nobody had realigned the gears and the front brakes had been disconnected entirely. When I pointed this out to the owner of the store, he said that an employee there could never make such a mistake and that I damaged the bike myself. When I told him that this was impossible as I just picked up the bike from his store, he claimed that I was lying and I had never brought my bike there. I still had my receipt, but this didn't seem to matter to him, and at this point he really lost control. He kicked my bike really hard, claiming that he was trying “to hit the kickstand.” Then he started riding my bike around the store screaming “THE BACK BRAKES WORK! THE BACK BRAKES WORK!” which was completely irrelevant as the back brakes were never broken. The owner continued his fit, screaming and cursing at me, and disparaging his own employees at the same time. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone at any service business in my entire life. And the worst part is that I brought my bike in to be repaired and after paying almost $100, it came out in far worse condition. The owner’s reaction was bizarre, upsetting, and entirely unacceptable. I would not recommend this bike store to anyone: your bike might get repaired, or it might not, and who knows if the owner will be there to work his charm on you.
