I used to do all my shopping for seafood at Albertson's (you know, the store, not the town, obviously, heh). But it was much more expensive there. I didn't even know about the fish market until I got lost driving back from a new restaurant the other month and then I found myself here. I decided to stop and check it out just because I wasn't in a huge rush to be anywhere (and I needed to ask someone for directions). I was really thrilled when I saw the deals they have on tuna and grouper. And the fish is all so obviously freshly caught. I always shop here now when I want to make fish, shrimp, or anything else along the nautical lines. Highly recommended to anyone who loves to cook seafood, whether you're cooking for yourself at home or you run a restaurant.

Seafood is definitely one of the main cultural features of living on Long Island. As a seafood lover, it is one of my favourite things about living here. But if you go to restaurants for seafood, it is -expensive- as all heck! If you are able to cook seafood yourself on the other hand ... you can save a lot of money, and I do mean a LOT. You can actually eat seafood on a normal budget now and again and not go broke.
One of the keys to doing that though is to shop at a place where you're offered good prices and a great selection on fresh seafood. Port Main Fish Market is THE place to be. I'm in here at least once every week.

Nothing is quite as good as fresh caught seafood. It's one of the little pleasures of living in Long Island, and anyone who doesn't take advantage of it is a fool. The Port Main Fish Market always has a great selection of fresh seafood at good prices. I save a lot of money buying here straight from the fishermen instead of going to a grocery store. Plus there's a lot more to choose from.

I belong to a family of fish lovers and each time my brothers come to visit me, they expect and demand a fish specialty every day. Naturally, I head to Port Main Fish Market for good quality fish that is underpriced when compared to fish you get from super markets. Just this morning I got some lovely tuna and sardines for my brothers. Wow! They tasted incredible and I’m definitely coming back here for more.
