I generally consider shoe shopping to be a form of low grade torture. I don't know why I hate it so much, but I do. Why it is so difficult to find a simple tennis shoe which has good tread and isn't made of cheap materials which are doomed to fall apart in a year I will never know.
The people who work at Payless are really helpful. They took what had been a terribly annoying day and wrapped it up for me so that I could get on with my evening. I walked in all frustrated and bitter, but they didn't take my attitude personally. They offered to help me out and found me a great pair of shoes within ten minutes. The price was right too. It's so nice when you're having a bad day and someone actually helps to turn that around when you are shopping. Things don't need to be so difficult, and these guys proved it to me.
