I can never get enough of this place! You will absolutely love it if you like sandwiches and good deals. One of the most affordable AND tasty restaurants in the area. Even if you get fish you still get a great price - and the fish is fresh and perfectly prepared. Hard to score a 5 out of 5 in my book, but this restaurant does it!

You cannot go wrong with the Snack Bar. They have such good deals on seafood, and their sandwiches are some of the best in town. I also recommend that you try their dessert.

This is a decent restaurant if you're looking for an reasonable meal - good food for a good price. I really enjoy their appetizers. The fries are some of the best in town. They're not the cheapest, but when you consider hte meal price as a whole, it isn't bad at all.

A surprisingly good experience here. I was really unsure about walking into a place with such a pretentious name (it really is - Snack Bar? it's a restaurant for goodness sake, not a "snack bar"). But the food is really awesome, and the service was fantastic! And the costs - you can't beat them, especially for seafood. One of the best deals in town.

This is a great restaurant! It's a sandwich place, and they do great with seafood. You won't walk out feeling hungry, despite the implications of the name! Also, you will love the prices! They are ridiculously low considering the quality of the food (and the location of the restaurant).

Not exactly a "snack bar" as the name implies, but pretty awesome! Don't be deterred by the name either. Usually when I see a restaurant that names itself something which doesn't make any sense like "snack bar," I assume it's going to be some kind of overhyped, over priced place where you get tiny plates of food and pay an arm and a leg. The Modern Snack Bar is actually a very reasonably priced seafood and sandwich restaurant with a diner type of vibe. You cannot go wrong with any of their fish sandwiches. They are priced low considering that they've got seafood in them, the portions are great, and everything tastes amazing. This has become my very favorite hangout on the island.

I love the "Snack Bar"! But yes, it isn't a "snack bar." It's kind of a ridiculous name. I'd call it more of a seafood diner. They have non-seafood too, but the best deals are totally on the fish sandwiches. Where else can you get flounder for like $10? I highly recommend that you get the appetizers or sides too. I love their french fries. They hardly cost anything, and they're awesome!

Like practically every restaurant on Long Island, this place, despite being called a “snack bar,” isn’t exactly cheap. It is however an excellent value when you consider that a lot of the dishes involve fish. At most restaurants, I wouldn’t be content to pay almost $11 just to get a sandwich. At most restaurants however, I wouldn’t be able to get fresh flounder for that price, would I? The Deep-Fried Fresh Flounder sandwich I always order costs just $11. Now that’s not a bad deal at all. Comes with cole slaw. One bummer is that you do have to pay extra for sides, and they’re not cheap (almost $4 for French fries). So I usually go for an appetizer instead of a side since they’re a bit more substantial and don’t cost that much more. The potato skins are great, and so are the beer battered onion rings.

Did someone say potato skins? Modern Snack Bar has some of the best around town. The family likes to just go once in awhile and enjoy a day out together. I wish they were open all year, but since they aren't we have something to look forward to when they are open. excellent service and food.
