First off, this isn't really a "fitness" place. Well, it is, but it is primarily a kickboxing studio. They put a lot of emphasis on burning carbs and losing weight, but that's secondary to the goal of teaching you how to fight. I enrolled because I was looking for something a little different from what I'd been doing to try and lose weight (treadmill and such).
I ended up discovering a really fun sport! I didn't even think about the fact that I was exercising during the classes. I was just having a blast (Kickboxing Blast is the name of the class I took, on that note)! It was so much fun sparring with the other students, and I really built up a lot of self esteem learning how to defend myself. It was just a bonus when I realized I'd dropped a few pounds at the end of the class!

I wasn't having much luck losing weight on my own, so I went to Malverne Fitness, and they helped me come up with a personal training plan which ultimately is helping me to succeed.
