The Long Island Greyhound Transfer is an agency that works specifically with the breed of greyhounds. The dogs can be rescued during or after their racing career has ended, once the owner really has no use for them. The agency takes the unwanted and uncared for dogs and works to rehab them so that they can be made in to a loving pet for an individual or a family. The agency houses the dogs once they are turned over or rescued from a regular pound or shelter. They are provided care until they are adopted out.
