Jones Beach State Park is a fun place to bring the family. Beautiful white sands, a nice boardwalk, and all sorts of activities (putt putt, basketball and so forth), and also a lot of local activities are hosted here on the south shore of the island. The Bethpage Air Show is held here every year. There are also concerts, etc.

Basically we come here a lot. I enjoy taking a break from the bustle of the city (as much as I love NYC), and the shore offers a nice reprieve and a place to watch the terns and gulls. The ocean is beautiful. My only complaint about the park is that it's pretty crowded most of the time. Not as crowded as the city proper of course, but still pretty packed nonetheless, especially during the summer season. There are quieter beaches I enjoy more personally, though there is more for my family to do here at Jones Beach. So if you enjoy outdoor activities and you don't mind the crowds a bit, then drop by sometime. It's very nice! Share Your Review
