Inexpensive, clean, secure, and staffed by really great folks. I have stayed here on a couple of separate occasions. I found it very reasonable in both cases, and the quality was the same on both of my visits. Now that I live in the area, I'm glad I don't have to pay for a motel stay anymore, but I did think I should say something nice about them. It was the only place I could afford to stay when I was checking out neighborhoods around here.

I think that a lot of people are missing the point of this hotel. If you are coming to Long Island on your honeymoon, or trying to find a place for your mother-in-law to stay while she visits you, or anything else where you're seeking to impress ... you probably aren't looking in the right place.
If however you are looking for a cheap, clean, friendly place to stay while you're visiting Long Island and NYC, I highly recommend the Jericho. The bathrooms and rooms are clean, the amenities are great, and while this place doesn't look impressive, it's functional. The staff members are all very friendly and seem to be trustworthy, despite the shady nature of the neighborhood. All I can say is, you'll feel a lot safer behind your locked door in this motel than you would out on the streets at night in NYC.

I'm going to preface this review by stating that this is not a place you come to stay if you are expecting a relaxing, lovely hotel with a beautiful view of the sea in Long Island etc. etc. This is a place you consider staying if you want to be within an hour of NYC proper, save up money, and well, get by, really. Travelling on a budget, this was exactly what I was looking for. Staying in or near NYC can be be extremely expensive or very cheap depending on how you play your cards. I try to get up here once a year, so I do my best to make it as cheap as possible so I can spend more time.
This motel is intimidating when you first get here. The neighborhood is dubious, and this is confirmed when the receptionist greets you from behind bullet proof glass. The receptionist actually turned out to be a really nice, helpful guy though, and while the hallways were pretty dingy, the room I stayed in was very clean and neat, and I felt totally comfortable and safe there once I'd gotten used to the idea of where I was staying. The bathroom was clean as well, hot water in the shower, very nice all around. I've stayed in MUCH more dubious situations while visiting NYC in the past, but I won't be repeating those situations now that I've found a good place to stay. Come in with realistic expectations and I think you'll really like the Jericho Motel.

I just happened to be there at Jericho Motel and decided to post this review for you.
Now, first things first, do not expect anything exquisitely lavish, since the lodge is pretty decent and nothing more. The rooms are basic, clean, comfortable, with bedspreads and other furnishing, and artifacts too, in some rooms.
The food is okay, and not very great or outstanding in any manner. The drinks are also decent and that’s all I can say.
I did pay a fortune for my room and got very little in comparison to what I would have got elsewhere. Nothing was ‘bad’ as such but nothing was ‘good’ too. Overall, the value for money was very bad!

Jericho Motel is one of the biggest motels in Long Island – and they are affordable too. There is not much option in room accommodation services, but then, there are decent rooms with clean bathrooms. The fridge and cable TV work well, and the dining is okay. Overall, I guess for the price, the hotel is good quality. Must – visit if you have no other place to reside in.

I was looking for a place to stay when I first landed up in Long Island; this is before I bought my flat. I went to Jericho expecting great service but to be honest, they were not worth the price tag they had on the services.
The room was basic, but by no means spacious – we had a table, a bed, a mini bar with tasteless wine, and a TV set. The bedding was not comfortable and really very hard. My spouse complained of back ache all the time.
The bathroom was shoddy and while they kept it clean, had a toilet system that wobbled and shook when we sat on it. Needless to say, we never used the one in our room.
The waiters always mixed up orders, took hours to get us the ‘complimentary’ bottled water for which we were charged in the end. And our woes could go on and on.
My take – see, I travel a lot and am used to great comfort when I’m charged $790 a night. But, Jericho Motel is an eyesore for that money! Avoid!

Jericho Motel was a great place to stay for the night. Rooms are clean, prices are great, and the Jacuzzi is awesome!
