This hotel was once upon a time a sub-par hotel I never would've gone back to, but they've changed a lot of things. They totally did over the lobby; it doesn't even look like the same place now. I'd never have known except that my aunt decided to stay here while she was in town, and I was shocked when she told me how great her hotel was and then told me it was Hilton Long Island. I dropped her off and was quite surprised. She told me her room was fantastic too. So I will be recommending the Hilton to all my future visitors. It seems like it's really an improved accommodation.

Hilton Long Island is one of the best places for you to stay in NYC if you are here for a vacation. I was happy to be here with my family and the resort went out of its way to ensure that we were comfortable and pleased during our stay here.
Let me start with the basics:
The rooms were great with wonderful bedding, duvets, and feather light pillows. The draperies that were put up in the main lobby were attractive and we had a lot of fun with the night stay.
There was a well stocked mini bar with the most tasty drinks and wine. There were sherbats and juices kept too. We had coffee makers with coffee packets to have throughout the day. There was complimentary breakfast and fruit platters served too all day.
Fine dining was great, the amenities were grand, and we had a lovely view of the imposing NYC skyline from the rooftop. All I can say is I enjoyed a lovely stay there with my family and wish every luxury hotel in the world provided such amenities for all of us, travelers. Needless to say, I highly recommend; and if I’ll have qualms about the hotel, it will only be for the price which is a tad too much.

The Hilton was undergoing renovations when I was there several months ago. I don't know for sure if the renovations are finished. I'll be honest; they did interfere with my stay. The lobby was boarded up, and there were issues with some of the rooms in the hotel. At first I was kind of upset about it, especially considering the price of the rooms, but I have to say that the customer service was great. I wrote in complaining a week after we left, and I received a note back from the manager. How often does the manager of any business bother responding to you, much less the manager of a large hotel like the Hilton? I received a kind apology for the inconvenience - not a slew of excuses. I was assured the renovations would finish up in the near future.
Since then I've checked reviews on the hotel and seen that people who've stayed there several times this year say that the hotel is indeed improving. So I think I will go back there. Hilton LI gets a 5/5 for great customer service.
