Over time we have gotten to know the folks that work here a bit, and they always recognize us, remember what we want, and take a couple minutes to chat with us, which is nice. I like being able to eat somewhere that I feel like I am welcome and they really care about my business.

Pretty good sushi restaurant, but not the best, and also quite expensive. If it were a little less so, I would probably have rated it a five star restaurant. As it is, there are other equally expensive restaurants that serve sushi on LI (lots of them), and several of them satisfy me more in terms of menu options. So I'm going to prefer the restaurant which offers me more choices or lower prices - or better yet, both. Having said that though, it is a very good restaurant, and if you are located near or in West Islip, there's no reason not to make it one of your top choices for Japanese food.

High Sushi is a fine dining restaurant in West Islip. It's very good; the sushi, the rolls, even the appetizers stood out to me. Come here for a special occasion and you'll really enjoy it. I don't get sushi that often because I want the best when I do get it, and this is the best I've found. It's worth the price.

I'm a connoisseur of sushi, and am still in search of the best place on Long Island. I'm still engaged in that search, because High Sushi didn't quite meet my standards at the high prices which they charge. The sushi wasn't bad at all, but I'm a working class, low income gal, and I just can't afford them. If you have more of a budget for eating out, High Sushi may be worth your while. For me though it doesn't make the cut as far as my new sushi home.
