This restaurant does really great Chinese food for cheap. The wonton soup is really good and so is the hot and sour. I love the rice, and they never skimp on it when you order takeout. Some places won't give you a full thing of rice if you also happen to order fried rice. they still give you the white rice.

Wow, I moved here a few weeks ago, and I was looking for a restaurant, and I found the reviews here on this site for this one. I thought I'd check it out. I was expecting good ... but not what I got. This place hit one out of the park! They are amazing! Better Chinese food than I had in my old hometown, and I liked the restaurant I grew up with! This place should be known throughout LI.

Quality. It's hard to find in a Chinese restaurant around here, if only because there are just so many of them, and most of them are really bad. Yes, that's sad to say, but it's so true. In a small town like I came from, there were two Chinese restaurants, and they both rocked. Here there's one in every strip mall, and 10 out of 12 are just useless.
Green Garden looks like just another Chinese restaurant, and at first glance you won't be expecting much. But it's really excellent. They use quality ingredients and oils, and since their recipes are great, that means you get quality results. I never feel queasy after I eat at the Garden, and I have a weak stomach. Other Chinese restaurants make me feel kind of ill. But here I always feel full and happy and excited to come back.

I agree with the reviewer above; the beef dishes at Green Garden really do excel. Nice, tender soft meat is so tasty! The rest of their dishes are fantastic too though. My personal favorite when I go in is the shrimp fried rice. At some places when you order shrimp, you get like three little shrimps. They actually give you a decent amount of shrimp if you order something here.

When I go to a Chinese restaurant, I almost always go for the beef with broccoli. In my opinion you can gauge the quality of a Chinese restaurant easily by this dish. Here's what bad beef and broccoli is like: you get tough, chewy meat, and overcooked broccoli.
Here's what the beef and broccoli at Green Garden Chinese Kitchen is like: you get tender, juicy, delicious beef and broccoli which is cooked perfectly so it's still just slightly crunchy. The sauce is also awesome! Just the right level of spiciness and balance of flavor.
Every so often you come across a Chinese restaurant which really stands out above the rest. For me, Green Garden is that restaurant.
