The east coast really can't get the hang of Mexican food, can they? Be careful when ordering here. The menu items are not entirely representative of what you would think they should be. This is not uncommon though. Up and down the east coast, and I haven't found a single authentic Mexican restaurant. That out of the way, the food is enjoyable, even though it is not authentic. For Americanized Mexican food, it may be one of the better options in town. I recommend it if you aren't too picky. It's tastier than the typical east coast Mexican fare.

Green Cactus is pretty good. I know that it's not as authentic as the Mexican food I used to get back home (I'm a Texas native, and down by the border you can get some amazing cuisine), but I still enjoy it. The waiters are super nice too, which probably plays into my opinion on this one. I really recommend the taco salad, it is awesome.

This isn't a real Mexican restaurant ... lol. They think a taco salad is called a tostada. Pretty hilarious. It's a New York only chain restaurant as far as I can tell. I've seen a few locations scattered throughout the state, but nowhere else. Given a choice between Green Cactus and like ... a random fast food restaurant, I'll pick Green Cactus every time. But it's not the kind of restaurant I'd go out of my way to eat at either.
