I also did a season at this farm, and I liked it so much that I'm thinking of becoming an actual migrant farm worker so I can get out and see the rest of the country. It was really amazing working on the farm. It was tough, and I used to think that something like this wouldn't appeal to me, but I liked the physical work. It seemed more meaningful to me than what I was going to do before with my life. Plus, working in the fresh air is something I'd take over an office any day.
The farming done here is all organic, so if you're looking for high quality produce which is grown without pesticides and other bad stuff, then stop on by and see what's in season. Golden Earthworm produces many different types of vegetables year round, so you'll always find something delicious waiting for you.
And if you want to learn about farming or gardening, this is the place to do it!

I actually worked at this farm for the winter season, and it was great! I met so many cool people and got to work with my hands and enjoy the beauty of nature. Though it was HARD work, make no mistake! The farm grows beets, bok choi, cabbage, peas, potatoes and dozens of other vegetables and fruits! And they do everything organically. With what I was able to learn during my farm season, I was able to start my own organic farm in my backyard using square foot gardening and companion planting techniques. It is such a joy to grow my own food and to know that I'm doing it in a way which is good for me and good for the planet.
If you want to work a summer or winter season on a farm, trust me, you'll learn a ton of good stuff at Golden Earthworm. If you're just looking for a source of local produce, this is one of the best choices you've got. And I'm speaking from experience; I know just how much care goes into every aspect of the process from the seed that gets planted to the food that ends up on your table.
