If you want to eat somewhere with a wonderful atmosphere and view of the Lake, you don't want to miss out on the Fishbar. The food is tasty, especially the lobster. And you can get fresh corn on the cob with butter--not something you usually find at a restaurant! My daughter has braces and can't actually eat corn on the cob, but they are very nice and they slice it off the cob for her and bring it to her in a bowl. So they get high marks for customer service too. They're very accommodating. It is one of our family's favorite restaurants all around. We love it and will be coming here for a long time to come! The very first time my wife and I ate at the Fishbar, we were just visitors in town, looking for the best view we could find of Lake Montauk while ate, and this was it. We admit that the food, while good, isn't equal to the price, there is a sentimental value to eating here for us, because it was here that I think we both considered moving to Long Island for the first time. That's exactly what we did three years later, and of course the Fishbar is still here. We eat here every year on the anniversary of our wedding and on the anniversary of our move to LI. The Fishbar offers a great view of Lake Montauk, which is probably its best feature. If you want to really relax and enjoy a nice view while you eat, this is the place to do it. Atmosphere doesn't get much better than this. Atmosphere gets 5/5 stars.

Food on the other hand ... Well, the food isn't bad. It's pretty good. I like the scallops with the bacon, and the lobster is great, buttery and tender. And they serve corn on the cob here, which is fresh and yummy! The food ... without consideration of the price, I'd give 4/4 stars.

Price on the other hand is just way more than it should be for what you get. The price I'd give a 2/5. That does drop the overall value and my judgment of the place to 3/5 stars total. When I want to show off the atmosphere of Montauk to a visitor (and my visitor isn't poor), I bring them to Fishbar. When I have a visitor who is on a budget though, this isn't somewhere I take them. So it depends on what's going on really. I like coming here, but I just wish the prices were more in line with the food. I feel like they're charging extra for the view. Can't blame them for trying to take advantage of what they've got though, because it is amazing. Share Your Review
