The Fire Island ferries operate through multiple communities, including Seaview and Ocean Park. The ferries run on a limited schedule for the fall and winter months and are dependent on weather conditions. During the summer months, between mid June and Labor Day the ferries run throughout the day at regular intervals. Freight is not allowed on the ferries. No bikes or other large pieces of equipment are permitted either. Child carriers will need to pay a special fee in order to cross on the ferry and may not be used to carry cargo.
