This is a delicious Italian restaurant with amazing services and a beautiful setting. We love the ambiance here and just really get into the cool atmosphere they have created. The food is the main draw of course. It's excellent and we always end up with some left over, not common for Italian restaurants in my experience, where you usually get smaller portions. Perfect restaurant for a date night.

As a Long Island local, I can say that Casa Basso is a favorite among anyone here who loves great food. It's the sort of place you'd mistake for a tourist magnet from the outside; the restaurant is located right next to a unique "castle" building and sculpture gardens with famous musketeer statues and more. I personally love the sculpture garden and the castle, but the restaurant itself is really top of the line.
When you get in, before you even order your dinner, you're brought a number of tasty appetizers. I could eat my fill of the zucchini alone. The first time I came here for some reason I was expecting a Mexican restaurant (must be the "Casa" part, I associated with "Casa Bonita," a favorite Mexican restaurant in Denver). Casa Basso serves Italian food. It's fine dining; the prices are largely in the $20-30 range. The menu itself isn't huge, but it doesn't have to be. There are so many tasty dishes I struggle to know whether I'm going to order the alfredo, the shrimp scampi, or any of the delicious veal entrees when I go in here. You can also get duck or lamb here, which is interesting.
My only complaint is that they do charge you if you share your entree with someone. I don't really blame them for doing that, but it does eliminate the possibility of having a smaller dinner at a reduced price, something I sometimes like to do with fine dining restaurants.
