Café Max is named for its chef and owner, Max, who you can see all the time and talk to, which is very cool. He’s a friendly fellow, and like the rest of the staff, he’s always up for a chat, and he likes to check on his customers regularly to see how they are doing. It’s a very nice little restaurant, and on the menu I would recommend the baked clams, the veal, and any of the pasta dishes, which are really all quite remarkable. It’s a comfortable restaurant and very cozy, and we really like it aside from the nights when it gets ridiculously crowded. He’s fast with the food even then, but I just prefer quieter evenings.
