For some reason the name "Cactus Hair" does not really summon a positive image for me--something to do with the idea of dry hair maybe? Anyway, despite a bit of marketing fail (in my opinion), it's a great salon. I DO have dry hair, and they are great at injecting a bit of life back into it with their styling. Christy E. Hairdressers have told me my whole life that my hair is really difficult to work with. It's curly, tangles easily, and has a lot of split ends. The hairdressers at Cactus Hair knew my hair type the moment they saw me. Instead of berate me for "not taking care of my hair" (a pet peeve of mine), they instead just did their jobs and did them well, and gave me some helpful recommendations for dealing with my hair type that DIDN'T include trying to sell me $40 bottles of shampoo and conditioner! It was nice not getting the up-sell routine and the guilt trip. They understood that my hair type wasn't my fault. A lot of the recommendations they gave me involved natural treatments, and they also were able to point me toward a line of shampoos which has helped me and which didn't cost me my whole salary.
