This is my favorite Tex Mex restaurant. I have eaten at a few in the area that I didn't like all that much. Their food just didn't seem very authentic to me. The food here is really good, and has a much more authentic flavor. They also make great margaritas, and that is a big plus. I have been eating here for years now. I've tried other Mexican restaurants, but then I always end up in the same place, asking myself, "why oh why did I think I'd try something NEW when the best food on the island is right here where I always go!" I've always preferred Tex Mex to straight up Mexican, and they have all my favorite dishes here. The cafe has a great atmosphere too. You'll feel right at home eating here, and you'll love the food! Oh man do I miss this place or what. I recently had to move across the island, and I’m not located close enough to Cactus Café to stop in every week like I used to. I was here a week ago because I was in the area, and it reminded me just how much I used to love coming in here all the time. The waiters missed me too! They actually asked me how I was and where I’d been, and even remembered what I like to eat here. Which is practically everything on the menu, but my favorite is definitely the veggie burritos. They are just stuffed full of goodness. I am not a meat eater, so finding really good, filling vegetarian food is such a rarity, and something I haven’t really found since moving across the island. I almost wish I could move back here just for the food! I will come in whenever I can. If they are close to you, don’t miss out on one of the tastiest Tex Mex restaurants on LI! Share Your Review
