When I was a teenager, I had a savings account and checking account at Bank of America in my hometown near Washington D.C., cause that is where my parents did their banking. I never thought anything of it. I also never had any problems. Things just ... worked.
Not so since I moved up to New York. The bank here does not just work. It doesn't work at all. They screw things up left and right. Can't tell you how many weird mistakes they have made in dealing with me, mistakes they have tried charging me money for. I find it so frustrating to have to like ... manager my bankers. Aren't they supposed to have managers to do that?? Banking shouldn't involve so much tedious time and work and energy.
That's why I am quitting, as of today. I am pretty sure I could blindly pick a random bank or credit union from a hat and receive superior customer service for my money.
