When I first moved here from Manhattan, I didn't have a car of my own, so I rented for a couple of weeks while I was shopping at the used dealerships. It was expensive, as expected, but it was sufficient to help me get around when I couldn't use the bus, and after I got the new car squared away, I didn't have any problems with the billing process. I do not own a car myself. I do not need one, as I generally prefer getting around with the metro and bus services. However, a car would come in handy when on holidays so I usually rent a car at Avis Rent A a Car in Port Washington.
