Annual Tournament to Be Held September 6-9
Montauk, NY — The 2nd Annual White Water Sportfish Challenge will be held at Star Island Yacht Club. The four-day event kicks off with the Captain’s Meeting on September 6 at 7:30 p.m. and fishing on September 7-8 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, and an awards ceremony and brunch on September 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
White Water Marine and Star Island Yacht Club have teamed up to bring the outboard motor sport fisherman a unique tournament experience with two great days of fishing. Prizes will be offered for an Offshore Champion, an Inshore Champion and a prize for each of the four fish categories: tuna, shark (mako and thresher), bass and blue fish. Over $30,000 in cash and prizes are up for grabs, including a Captain’s Raffle.
The entry fee is $975 per boat, which includes four angler bracelets. Additional bracelets may be purchased for $80 each. Transient rates are $2.50 per foot plus $15 per day for utilities (water, electric and cable TV), payable in advance. Dockage is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
