Do you like learning more about the area that you live? The “Discovery” Wetlands Cruise is a great way for you and your family to learn more about the wetlands that are along the North Shore of Long Island. These 90-minute sightseeing tours will embrace history, ecology, and geology, making it a perfect trip for homeschoolers, school field trips, and for families who just like to make learning fun.
A naturalist will be on board with you to help to guide you through your adventure as you learn about how the Native Americans first settled here, as well as enjoy the wetlands’ unique characteristics. If you bring your binoculars, you will be able to see up close and personal the many plants and animals that live in the wetlands.
The 27-passenger pontoon boot will take you from the Stony Brook Harbor to the West Meadow Creek wetlands. Morning, mid-day, and sunset cruises are available, as well as special dinner packages in the evenings that include a meal from Pentimento, The Country House, or Three Village Inn. Whether you are just going as a couple or as a group of mixed ages, you will find a cruise that will fit your needs.
Reservations are recommended. For more information, including rates or to make a reservation, visit www.wmho.org or call (631)751-2244.
