Upcoming Events for Long Island Children

In search of a fun activity for the family this month? Here are some local events happening around Long Island which are geared toward children and which can be fun for the whole family:
- “Pinocchio” by the Arena Players Children’s Theater. This show will air Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. in Centerport. Admission costs $8 for children and $10 for adults.
- “Spring Eggstravaganza.” This Ukrainian egg decorating event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on March 23rd and costs $12 for all participants. The event is hosted by the Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City. Other events scheduled for this month at the museum include “Knitting and Crocheting With Loving Hands” on March 27th and “Flamenco Vivo II” on the same day. “Hatched,” a drama by the Treehouse Shakers, will air on March 28th and 29th.
- “Pinkalicious,” a musical for children is airing every weekend through April 20th at the Merrick Theater and Center for the Arts. Admission costs $9 per person.
- “Spring’s Hatching.” This event will take place at the Long Island Science Center in Riverhead, and will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 23rd. Children and their families will have a chance to look at baby chickens and other newborn animals for $5.
- “The Velveteen Rabbit” musical is playing Saturdays and Sundays through March 30th at the Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts, and tickets cost $15.
- “Seashell Jewelry Making” will be hosted at the Garvies Point Museum and Preserve in Glen Cove on March 26th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free with museum admission.
