We all know that the environment of Long Island has been altered because of the power of the the storm unleashed just a short time ago. One of the political activists in the state, the New York League of Conservation Voters, which makes the environment one of the top priorities, will host its 2012 Long Island Chapter Cocktail Party on Wednesday, December 5th, at Carlyle on the Green at Bethpage Black, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Everyone that has been around the Carlyle will attest that this is the perfect place to hold any function! For this particular evening the NYLCV will be hosting an event to honor Long Island’s clean-water champions from the worlds of government, advocacy and business. Included in this event, Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone will headline the event, underscoring their leadership in protecting Long Island’s water and addressing critical wastewater challenges.
While these two have been strong in their own leadership in environmental issues, the evening will also put a spotlight on Adrienne Esposito, executive director of Citizens Campaign for the Environment, and Kevin McAllister, the Peconic Baykeeper, who have also been instrumental in advocating Long Island issues.
Information about this evening at The Carlyle can be had by contacting Hilary Wilkes at hwilkes@nylcv.org or (919) 395-9583. For media inquiries only, please contact Dan Hendrick at dhendrick@nylcv.org or (917) 207-8715.
