NEW YORK – Due to Hurricane Sandy, tens of thousands of cars in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area were heavily damaged from rain and storm surge. Many of these cars have insurance issues and their owners don't realize they have other alternatives for getting the most value from selling their damaged vehicle. Rusty’s Auto Salvage is providing car owners affected by Hurricane Sandy the chance to recover maximum value for their cars. In addition to giving owners much needed money for their vehicles, Rusty’s Auto Salvage has set up a program where it will also donate money to charity for each damaged car it purchases from an owner in the tri-state area. The company promises to donate 10 percent of profits from each car purchased, to the American Red Cross in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area.
“Seeing our neighbors and families in the communities where we work and live struggling to put their lives back together made us want to help in any way we can,” said Rob Vogel, Chief Financial Officer of Rusty’s Auto Salvage. “We want those affected by Sandy, who are in need of financial help, to know that we can pick up their damaged car and give them the best price anywhere in order to help them get back on their feet.”
Since the storm hit, Rusty’s has seen auto recovery calls balloon by nearly 30% to over 400 calls a day, and the number of cars collected is also growing daily with the damaged autos stacking to the sky at salvage yards. Rusty’s offers fair market value for uninsured car owners who otherwise could be victims of price gauging. Car owners looking to salvage their cars should contact Rusty’s in order for a tow truck to come to the car owner’s location and tow away the damaged car that was purchased. Those vehicles will be sold for parts, scrapped for metal or sent to auctions.
