As you look at all of the options that are available to Long Island residents this New Year, the choices can be overwhelming. There are countless restaurants, night clubs, and other venues that are holding parties until the wee early morning hours. In this, there is plenty of temptation to go from place to place without much thought of anything going wrong. However, things can spiral out of our own control if we are not careful.
Staying safe on New Year's Eve is more than having a designated driver as you go from place to place or back to your home. One way that you can continue to be safe is to leave an itinerary with friends, or parents, who are staying home. This can be a tentative list of places you may be just in case something does happen or someone needs to be in contact.
Along with this make sure your cellphone is fully charged before leaving for the night. Chances are you will be taking picture, updating social media, and other activities on your phone that it will drain your battery through the night. A full charge will help to ensure you can still make calls early in the morning if you need to.
The last idea, or tip, to staying safe on New Year's Eve this year is to always stay with friends. There is protection in numbers and you will definitely have more fun while you party the night away with those closest to you.
Enjoy your night of celebating while staying safe tomorrow night. But, above all... Happy New Year!
