The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury will be the site of the third annual 2013 Long Island Hospitality Ball on Monday, June 3rd. This event benefits the American Cancer Society and showcases many local wine and spirit companies, as well as restaurants from all over Long Island. With just the cost of admittance, you can enjoy unlimited food and drink from hundreds of different companies and restaurants, and help to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
This year there will also be a competition for best entrée, best pastry, best bread, best dessert, best cake, and overall best table presentation among the participating restaurants. Judges will include Brian Halweil and Stephen Munshin, the editor and publisher of Edible Long Island, and Michael Maroni, the chef-owner of Northport’s Maroni Cuisine. Judging will be done before guest tasting to see if the guests agree with the results.
Some of the restaurants and wine and spirit companies that are participating in the event and in the competition include: Mill Pond House in Centerport, West End Bistro in Carle Place, Uncle Bacala’s in Garden City Park, Rare 650 in Syosset, Vero and Vittorio’s in Amityville, Tellers and Verace in Islip, and K. Pacho in New Hyde Park. For a complete list and for more information, you can visit longislandhospitalityball.org.
Last year, the event was attended by more than 2,000 people and raised more than $240,000 for the American Cancer Society. This year the goal that the organizers want to raise is $300,000.
