About the Selection Process
Receiving over 12,000 submissions, the nationwide search for the next great undiscovered songwriter enlisted leading digital music company Yoo.Vio to track each entrant's online fan growth across top social networks. The top-ranked 140 artists were then reviewed by John Shanks who handpicked 10 finalists to compete for the winning title and grand prize.
“The overwhelming response of inspired submissions with such a variety of styles that we received this year made it difficult to narrow down just ten finalists,” says Shanks. “I am excited to see what each of these aspiring artists is able to bring into their live performance and honored to help them hone their sound and refine their style.”
