“SUMMER SOIREE BY DAY” BENEFITS RESEARCH AT STONY BROOK’S
NATIONAL PEDIATRIC MS CENTER

STONY BROOK, NY, April 17, 2012 – Fresh off the heels of its tremendous 2011 success, which gathered 350 guests and raised almost $250,000 to benefit pediatric MS research, the 7th annual Summer Soiree by Day, presented by the National Pediatric MS (multiple sclerosis) Center at Stony Brook University Medical Center, will be held at the Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success, New York on Thursday, June 7, 2012. The event features an afternoon of delicious dining, entertainment, and auction prizes. Kicking off at 11:30 a.m. the luncheon runs through 2:30 p.m. and will benefit pediatric MS research conducted at the National Pediatric MS Center. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Team Adventure Camp Program, an annual free summer camp program for adolescents living with MS.
Keynote speaker, Laurie Puhn, bestselling author of Fight Less, Love More and TV personality regularly featured on Good Morning America, Fox News, The Early Show and CNN will speak on solving the mystery of great Relationships at home, at work, and throughout their lives.
The National Pediatric MS Center at SBUMC, part of Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital, was established to advance the recognition, evaluation, and treatment of pediatric MS through the creation of a multidisciplinary program dedicated to clinical care and scientific research of children and adolescents with MS. The Center includes a multidisciplinary team of experts in MS, pediatric neurology, nursing psychiatry, and neuropsychology. The National Pediatric MS Center has been designated a Center of Excellence by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
