The Suffolk County SPCA is asking for the public's help with its disaster relief efforts from Hurricane Sandy.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk SPCA said that the agency's volunteers have been staffing Pet Friendly Shelters around the clock since the day before the storm hit.
"Our biggest need is for supplies; dog & cat food; blankets; bowls leashes and volunteers," Gross said. Volunteers are needed to help staff the Mobile Animal Hospital (MASH Unit) where dogs and cats are currently being sheltered. We also need volunteers who will be trained to staff the shelters in the event we get hit again with another disaster.
Anyone who can help with donations or who wishes to volunteer is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.
