The Suffolk County SPCA will be distributing pet food this Sunday, December 2nd in Island Park, NY.
Chief Roy Gross of the Suffolk CountySPCA said that the agency will be at the Island Park Train Station, Long Beach Rd. & Austin Blvd. at noon on Sunday distributing dog and cat food to families hit hard by Superstorm Sandy. Some of the food and supplies being distributed was collected by students at Barry Tech, Nassau County BOCES and donated to the Suffolk County SPCA. "This was a great effort on the part of the students and their hard work will surely be appreciated by those in need," Gross said. Some of the students who took park in the food drive will be on hand to help distribute the food.
Additionally Dr. John Charos, Central Veterinary Associates, will also be available for consultation and to provide rabies inoculations.
The Suffolk County SPCA also continues to have food available at our office in Hauppauge from Monday through Friday from 9am to 5 pm. Please call to check on availability.
