Medford, NY - December 9, 2015 - The Suffolk County Police Department is partnering with Target to give underprivileged children who reside in the Sixth and Seventh Precincts in Suffolk County a holiday shopping experience.
More than 40 children will participate in Target’s nationwide program known as Heroes and Helpers during which the children will each receive a $50 gift card that they can spend at Target. During the event, which is being held on December 10 at the Medford Target at 6 p.m., the children can choose to spend the gift cards on anything in the store. Target will supply snacks during the event.
Police officers from the Sixth and Seventh Precincts and the Suffolk County Police Explorers program, a public service group for young adults, will assist the children during their shopping trip.
