Stephen Labate Thanks GOP and Conservative Leaders
for Efforts During Ballot Process
Stephen A. Labate, candidate for Congress in New York CD-3 and a twenty year U.S. Army Veteran, submitted over 8,000 signatures to qualify for the November 2012 ballot on the Republican and Conservative party lines against six-term Congressman, Steve Israel. It was determined by the New York State Board of Elections on Thursday, May 3, that Stephen A. Labate was the sole candidate to qualify for the Republican and Conservative line.
“I am grateful to all of the committeemen, both in the Republican and Conservative Party, as well as the many volunteers, who worked tirelessly, going door to door so that we could reach our goal. Their extraordinary efforts resulted in our obtaining more than seven times the required number of signatures needed to qualify”, said Labate.
The candidate went on to say, “I would also like to thank Chairman Joseph Mondello, Chairman John Jay LaValle and Chairman Philip Ragusa, the respective Chairmen of the Nassau, Suffolk and Queens Republican Party, as well as Chairman Dan Donovan, Chairman Ed Walsh and Chairman Thomas Long, the respective Chairmen of the Nassau, Suffolk and Queens Conservative Party, for their endorsements and leadership in rallying the troops. Additionally, I would like to thank the individual township committee chairs and their committees for an incredible accomplishment in collecting this magnitude of signatures within the shortened window dictated through the redistricting process. I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support for my candidacy, and I look forward to our partnership as we bring our positive message of restoring growth and prosperity to the 3rd Congressional District.”
“The incumbent Congressman has voted in lock step for the irresponsible policies which are bankrupting our country and killing job growth”. Labate continued, “Our country is at a crossroads, and this Election Day could not be more important for our future. Over the last few weeks, I have traveled through the newly drawn district and find an overwhelmingly positive response to my platform of pro-growth, job creation and smaller government. The contrast between my goals and those of my opponent could not be more drastic, and I will be relentless in my efforts to promote my platform and restoring the fiscal sanity that is so desperately needed in Washington. The residents of the 3rd Congressional District deserve nothing less.”
