St. Catherine's Offers Healthy Options at LI Green Market in Kings Park

Smithtown, New York— On Saturday, July 13, 2013, St. Catherine joined the many local farmers at LI Green Market in Kings Park. St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center’s Community Outreach Program provided free blood pressure screenings, education and information. The medical center will be present on the following dates: July 28^th, August 11^th and 25^th, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

About Long Island Green Market

From May through November, the Long Island Green Market offers fresh fruits and vegetables, specialty items like hand-made soaps, and lots of activities for the kids. Fruits and vegetables sold at the Kennedy Plaza, Kings Park and Belmont Park Farmers Markets are either local or from Upstate New York, and some are organic. From strawberries to fresh herbs, radishes, lettuce, carrots, escarole and even callaloo, to potted plants or cut flowers, there's a wealth of fresh produce at the market.

The Long Island Green Market will be located in the municipal lot near the library on East Main Street, Kings Park. The 2013 market hours are Sundays, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, through November 24th.
